Super Special Apple Pie #dessert #applepie

I remember coming home sullen one day because we'd lost a softball game. Grandma, in her wisdom, suggested, "Maybe a slice of my homemade apple pie will make you feel better." One bite, and Grandma was right. If you want to learn how to make homemade apple pie filling, this is really the only recipe you need.

You’ll Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 1/2 stick / 6 oz or 170 g butter
  • 1 cup or 200 g regular sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup or 55 g chopped nuts – walnuts or pecans

Instructions:

  1. Set oven to 350 F, Gas 4, 180 C
  2. Grease your pie dish.
  3. Peel and slice the apples (enough to fill plate 3/4 full).
  4. Mix 1 Tbsp sugar & 1 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle over the apples.
  5. In a saucepan, melt the butter then take off heat.
  6. Combine flour, salt and Sugar in a bowl, then add 1 egg, and the melted butter.
  7. Add chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans).
